RACE DAY
What time does the race start?
The marathon starts at 6:00 a.m. and the half marathon at 6:30 a.m.
Please arrive early to check in and warm up.
Where does the race start and finish?
The marathon starts at Crystal Springs Sno Park and finishes along the I90 corridor near North Bend, offering breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains.
The half marathon starts at Hyak and finishes with the marathon runners.
Please see the course info tab for directions and shuttle info.
What are the course routes?
You will run through beautiful forested trails and along scenic river paths. Detailed maps are available on our website.
What shoes do I wear?
We suggest road shoes for the hard packed gravel course. Trail shoes tend to be a bit rigid and unnecessary. Racers tend to get shredded from the gravel. While it is a trail, the course is not technical. Gators might be helpful if you shuffle and kick up rocks.
Do I need a headlamp and will I get it back?
YES. All runners will need a headlamp or small flashlight for the 2.4 mile tunnel. You will need to carry your light with you or you can drop it and donate it for future runners that forget their light. The tunnel is too close to the finish to be able to return the lights in time.
Are dogs allowed?
No. Per USATF rules, dogs are not allowed in the Jack & Jill's Downhill Marathon.
Are strollers allowed?
No, this course is not ideal for strollers due to a 2.4 mile dark tunnel and hard packed gravel along an open course.
Are headphones allowed?
Yes, but please use bone conduction ones or only one earbud at a low volume to remain aware of your surroundings.
Is there a bus shuttle to the full marathon start?
Yes. There is NO parking at the marathon start. It is a very short shuttle ride from HYAK Sno Park Parking area (the Half start).
Is this event sanctioned?
Yes, this event is USATF sanctioned.
Are there drop bags?
Yes! We provide them when you pick up your bib. Your bib also has a tear tag to secure to your bag. Please ensure the bag is closed and the tag secure. Do not place valuables in the drop bag. We are not responsible for lost items. We do not mail forgotten drop bags.
SUPPORT AND SERVICES
What support will be available on the course?
The course will have ample hydration stations every 2-2.5 miles with water and gatorade with volunteers to guide and cheer you on.
Can my friends and family come to watch?
Absolutely! Spectators are welcome to cheer runners along the course and at the start/finish line. For the finish line, spectators take a shuttle bus from Hyak parking area (see parking and directions page). We love cowbell and cheers!
